RBW Consulting is excited to announce an opportunity to join our growing Biotech client as a Director, Clinical Operations and oversee the strategic direction of their assigned global clinical programs, particularly in Europe. This company have secured series-A funding and also raised hundreds of millions in post-IPO equity. The role is available because the current Senior Director is being promoted to an Executive Director position, leaving space in the business to pick up their responsibilities for one (maybe two) of the assets currently in development. This role will have the view to move into a Senior Director position as the company grows.


The ideal candidate will have a strong personality and the ability to navigate internal cross-functional relationships and will also have experience working in the Biotech environment as well as within the neuro space.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical operations resources and contribute to strategy and execution of global clinical programs.

  • Oversee planning, budgeting, and management of global clinical studies.

  • Manage clinical operations in various regions, with potential global support.

  • Coordinate with external service providers and internal teams to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.

  • Help develop and plan clinical trial protocols and study plans.

  • Support scenario planning and risk-benefit analyses to align with corporate strategies.

  • Identify best practices and improve operational efficiency.

  • Manage resource strategies with internal and external groups for global drug development.

  • Maintain relationships with pharmaceutical partners and suppliers.

  • Ensure effective communication and information exchange across projects.

  • Participate in clinical submission activities and regulatory meetings.

  • Engage in due diligence for in-licensing opportunities.

  • Develop training plans, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.

  • Support the development and implementation of SOPs for clinical trials.

  • Collaborate with various departments within and outside Clinical Operations.

  • Represent the company at Investigator Meetings.


Requirements

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree (Life Sciences preferred) or equivalent.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, with a track record in leading and managing clinical trials from start to finish.

  • Preferably experienced in direct line management and overseeing high-performing clinical trial teams.

  • Proven ability to handle large, complex budgets.

  • Experience in neurology studies is a bonus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
