Field Application Specialist ICP/MS

Global analytical services and solutions provider, offering a broad portfolio of spectroscopy, molecular spectroscopy, and chromatography instruments, consumables, and reagents.
Purpose
As a Field Application Specialist, you will provide pre-sales support to Account Managers, deliver specialist product line and breakthrough application/method solutions, and lead internal trainings for Sales and Service personnel. You will also support customers post-sales with application and product knowledge, and assist field service in solving instrumentation issues related to applications.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Support:
Develop value proposition collateral and new sales tools.
Nurture and develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) at the regional level.
Continuously learn and expand your scientific network.
Provide technical competitive intelligence and content for marketing collateral.
Demo Management:
Plan and manage high-quality demonstrations.
Provide technical expertise to local sales teams.
Manage demonstration reporting and inventory.
Ensure lab management adheres to safety and environmental procedures.
Sales Excellence:
Improve sales execution and prospect conversion rates.
Support Account Managers in opportunity ranking and customer expansion.
Assist in tenders and customer quoting processes.
Develop sales professionals’ skills for demos and independent selling.
Post-Sales Excellence:
Serve as the main point of contact for applicative questions.
Provide technical and applicative advice to customers.
Conduct advanced level training for customers.
Collaborate with the field service team to solve customer application problems.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in relevant science disciplines (PhD preferred).
3 years of experience as a Field Application Specialist or related role.
Strong practical experience in inorganic mass spectrometry (Quadrupole-ICP/MS).
Field sales and support experience
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (approx. 50%).
Preferred Skills
Practical experience in the application of ICP/MS, ideally in the semiconductor area.
Recognised experience in customer and business-focused activities.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to design and lead internal and external trainings.
Fluent in German and English.
