Python Developer Inside IR35

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Development and maintenance of production-quality software. Role will primarily focus on development of the new data management system for the company with integrated analytic workflows. This individual will work closely with scientific teams to fully understand their requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing, developing, and maintaining production-quality modules for systems using Python/Django and/or JavaScript/React/HTML/CSS.

• Creating and maintaining key analysis pipelines to process scientific data efficiently.

• Collaborating with scientific team leaders to gather and refine software requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.

• Developing a deep understanding of scientific workflows and proposing technical solutions to optimise data and workflow management.

• Taking responsibility for individual software development projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality code.

• Conducting thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, adhere to best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

• Assisting in the maintenance and development of bioinformatics analysis pipelines.

• Leveraging expertise in relational databases and SQL to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.

• Performing data migrations to efficiently transfer and transform data as part of legacy system upgrades or changes.
  

Key Skills:

• 5 Years of Python / Django

• Experience in Jython

• Must have strong stakeholder engagement skills
